Sheila Campbell, Ph.D., R.D.
Nutrition and Health Consultant
Sheila earned her PhD from the Ohio State University, Columbus, OH and her Master of Science degree in human nutrition and clinical dietetics from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Sheila is a registered dietitian and holds many leadership positions within the Academy of Nutrition including collaboration on 3 evidence analysis workgroups and participation in the Leadership Conference.
Sheila retired from the Medical Affairs Department of Abbott Nutrition where she served as Manager of Medical Communications. Subsequently she was a partner with Healthcare Creative, a full service advertising agency. She is currently owner and “Food Docent” of A La Carte Food Tours and an Associate with Windrose Partners.
She has authored more than 70 publications on scientific, clinical and medical topics including medical foods and ingredients, pediatric and adult clinical nutrition, diabetes, GI disease, critical care, and more. She has presented papers, prepared teaching materials and articles, and authored other peer-reviewed publications. She is a sought after speaker and trainer and has presented 60 domestic and international lectures on a variety of nutrition and health-related topics.
Sandy Bigelow, Ph.D.
Sandy is a regulatory affairs professional with more than 20 years of experience in leading global technology responsibilities in the food, medical food, medical device and dietary supplement industries. Sandy is a Board Certified Toxicologist with proven ability to craft product opportunities based on the safety and efficacy of novel proprietary, bioactive ingredients used in medical foods, other nutritionals, personal care, medical device, and pharmaceutical products.
Sandy has both extensive industry and government experience in global food and nutritional issues including claims substantiation, bioactive and product safety and clinical affairs. He has been active or a member in International Life Sciences Institute, International Food Information Council, Institute of Food Technologists, Society of Toxicology, Society of Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology, Regulatory Affairs Professional Society, Council for Responsible Nutrition and Codex Alimentarius Commission activities for more than 15 years.
Michael C. Lorton
Mike graduated from Indiana University with a BS in Chemistry Degree. He is a Quality Assurance Professional with over 35 years of experience. After retiring from the position of Director of Medical Nutritional QA with Abbott Labs Ross Division (Currently Abbott Nutrition) he has consulted with more than a dozen companies on Quality Systems development and Compliance. As Director of QA Mike had responsibility for oversight of 11 Contract Manufacturers in the US and Europe, manufacturing Medical Nutritional products marketed in the US by Abbott.
His consulting experiences lie primarily in working with Contract Manufacturers to develop Quality Systems necessary to assure compliance to the product specifications of the marketing firm while assuring compliance to US CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) necessary to meet FDA Compliance requirements. His experience includes development of manufacturing documentation for compliance, In Process monitoring system design, Incoming materials inspection system design, Non-conformance review and resolution, production tracking and trending and follow up auditing to assure manufacturing compliance. He is experienced with retort and aseptic sterilization systems, liquid and powder processing, and metal, plastic and pouch container technologies.
Marketing and Sales
Trish has over 30 years of medical food, consumer and international marketing and sales experience. She held a wide range of leadership positions in brand marketing, business development, marketing research and sales with Abbott Nutrition, a division of Abbott Laboratories. She successfully launched several breakthrough nutritional brands and was responsible for transitioning Ensure from a hospital based product to a mainstream consumer brand. Cadwallader consults with a variety of health care and consumer package good companies including Abbott Laboratories, Molnlycke, Novartis, Dental Care Plus Group, UCB Pharmaceuticals, United Healthcare and P&G among others.
She also serves on the nonprofit boards of BalletMet Columbus, Ohio Health’s Kobacker House Hospice, and Wexner Center for the Arts’ Director Circle.
Jim Dorsch, MBA
Marketing and Market Research
Jim has 30 years management experience with Fortune 100 companies. Highlights include:
- Developing and launching over $700MM in new products such as Cottonelle, Underoos, Prego, V8 new packaging and Sandwich Stackers.
- Leading three business units – grocery, condiments and beverages –to successful profit performance.
- Creating business systems and marketing innovation across the globe as Campbell’s Soup International CMO.
In addition, he has enjoyed over 10 years of entrepreneurial adventure. Highlights include:
- Consulting for major companies including J&J, Kraft, Nestle and Wyeth on functional foods and ingredients.
- Co-founding NutraBrand Innovations, LLC which developed and launched MegaMilk.
- Peak Bar CMO which was a retail success.
- Linescale Client Service partner. Linescale is a premier web based customer insight service with many Clients.
Jim is engaged as Golf Chairman and Congregation Deacon Chairman and a tutor for Reading Power.
